The price of an asphalt driveway or parking lot depends on square footage, the condition of the existing base, how much old material has to be removed, drainage needs and site access. We measure the job in person and give you a written price. Estimates are free, and same-day estimates are available for most Houston addresses.
If the damage is limited to a few cracks or potholes, crack filling and patching is usually enough. If the surface is worn but the base underneath is still solid, resurfacing with a new asphalt overlay restores it at a lower cost than replacement. If you see widespread alligator cracking, sinking or drainage problems, the base has failed and full replacement is the right call. We tell you which one you actually need during the estimate.
New asphalt should cure for at least six months before its first seal coat. After that, most Houston driveways and parking lots benefit from a fresh seal coat every two to three years. Seal coating slows oxidation from the Texas sun, blocks water and keeps the surface black.
You can usually walk on new asphalt after 24 hours and drive on it after 48 to 72 hours, depending on temperature. In Houston heat we may ask for a little longer. Avoid parking in the same spot every day, turning the wheels while stopped, or placing sharp point loads on the surface during the first few weeks.
Asphalt costs less up front, installs faster and handles Houston soil movement with fewer visible cracks. Concrete costs more but lasts longer with less maintenance. We install and repair both, so we will recommend whichever fits your budget, your soil and how you use the driveway.
